Artist Statement
For several years Ryan Coit’s life and photography has been influenced by his involvement in the LGBT community. Internationally recognized for presenting images that capture the beauty in all types of individuals expressing their sexuality and identity.
In his most resent works you can see a into the world he lives. He has taken his most private fetishes and displayed them for the world in their simplicity and beauty. Coit’s work takes on the scent of leather and sweat – The innate beauty of desire and sex.

What does Balaclava.Q mean to you?
I was instantly draw to Balaclava.Q from the first thing I read on its page.
“Only the human mind invents categories and tries to force facts into separated pigeon-holes. The living world is a continuum in each and every one of its aspects. The sooner we learn this concerning sexual behavior the sooner we shall reach a sound understanding of the realities of sex.” – Alfred Kinsey (1894-1956)
For may years I was confused by sexuality and the boxes that we create for it. My work had been an exploration of things I do not understand but have a desire and curiosity to.

Stiofan O'Ceallaigh is a multi-media artist and curator born in Ireland, currently working between the USA and Europe. O'Ceallaigh is also founder of Balaclava.Q - An international Queer Arts Project & Collective (Established 2016) .
Working internationally, exhibiting mainly across Europe and N/S. America O'Ceallaigh's focus is an exploration of the understanding of a queer aesthetic, if indeed, there is one.
A personal journey, and an acknowledgement to the status flux, O'Ceallaighs work seeks to emancipate those who know it, simply by promoting discourse around areas such as HIV, queer art censorship, body politic and internalised shame/stigma>pride, and fundamentally an effort to reduce hate... in all its forms.
